Why CareMap exists

CareMap was founded by someone who watched the problem firsthand, hundreds of times.

"She looked at the price of her medication, did the math in her head, put the prescription back on the counter, and walked away without it. Not because she couldn't be helped — because no one told her where to go."

Rufeda Ali spent years as a Pharmacy Technician at CVS Pharmacy and Cardinal Health and as a Medical Assistant at USMD, watching uninsured patients do the math at the counter and walk away without their medication. Patients with diabetes leaving without insulin. Parents without medication for their children. People in chronic pain who had been avoiding care for years, unaware that a free clinic or federally qualified health center was two miles away, ready to help at no cost.

The resources were there. The patients were there. The tool to connect them was not.

After years in clinical care, Product Management at Bayer and Providence Health, and enterprise technology at Amazon, Rufeda built CareMap — the tool that should have existed all along.

This is not an affordability problem.
It is a navigation failure.

The free clinics exist. The federally qualified health centers exist. The patient assistance programs, the sliding-scale dental offices, the mental health centers, the veteran care facilities — they are in every ZIP code in this country.

Most people just don't know they're there. CareMap changes that.

Three things we will never compromise

Free for patients, forever

CareMap will never charge patients to find free clinics or prescription assistance. No subscription, no freemium wall, no premium tier. If you are uninsured or underinsured, CareMap is free. Full stop.

No ads. No data selling.

We will never sell your data to third parties. We will never run advertisements. The trust of the patients we serve is not for sale, under any circumstances.

Unbiased results, always

Search results are ranked by proximity and fit, never by who paid us. Every clinic in our database is treated equally. Patients always get the best match, not the best-paying one.

Find free healthcare near you

CareMap is free for every uninsured and underinsured American. Search for free clinics, sliding-scale care, mental health resources, veteran services, and prescription assistance. No account required. No cost.
